These Four Questions Will Make Any Video Easier To Do

Are you creating a video, but feeling stuck?

Not sure what the video should look like, or what the footage should be of?

Afraid the video will look unprofessional and low quality?

It’s OK. This is a feeling common for many organizations, and we have these discussions quite a bit with our clients. But creating a video should be fun, and it shouldn’t cause too many headaches. Don’t worry about perfectionism again. 😊

When we start working with clients, we keep things simple, especially if they haven’t created many videos before. So, we’ll start off by answering four key questions.

1. What will the video be about?

2. What does the organization do?

3. Who, if anybody, will be interviewed?

4. What do we want the viewers to see in the video?

These questions will guide the rest of our video work going forward.

Let’s use our work with Catalyst Sports as an example.

Here’s what we learned prior to grabbing a camera:

1. Catalyst Sports is an adaptive-sports nonprofit that gives persons with disabilities the opportunity to experience new things, like nature.

2. They were hosting an adaptive mountain bike tour across the southeast where individuals could hop in a mountain bike for the first time.

3. We will be interviewing people at various locations across their tour. Many of these people had never been in an adaptive mountain bike before.

4. We want viewers to see how awesome these mountain bikes are, and we want them to feel like they, too, whether they have a disability or not, can take one of these bikes for a spin.

If you watch the video, you’ll see the visuals show each of these answers. It’s that simple. 😊
