Are Your ‘Mommy And Daddy’ Making Your Decisions, Too?

A young picture of Ryan Wilson, taken during his birthday

When I was younger, I used to let my mommy and daddy take charge.

They made the decisions, and it seemed I got by quite well following suite.

That’s understandable, and then I went to college. I left my childhood home, and attended the University of Illinois, a big school roughly an hour and a half away.

I participated in a residential program in which a select number of students with disabilities live together. We’re provided all sorts of resources and assistants to make sure all our basic needs were fulfilled, AND we feel empowered to make independent choices.

More than a dozen power-wheelchair users pose for a picture on ice. It was a great opportunity for them to have fun, and learn how to live independently.
Once in a while, the program I lived in would have fun together. We even took our power wheelchairs to the ice arena!

They wanted me to find my way, and not have to rely on mommy and daddy to make all the “big boy decisions.” This was quite challenging, and I realized my submissiveness and indecisiveness may have been counterproductive.

Oops!

This helped me realize that my habit of letting others make decisions for me was holding me back. I learned that making my own decisions —and owning them — was essential. It also felt good, too! 😊

In many ways, nonprofits face a similar journey.

They can rely too heavily on doing what’s familiar, or on decisions made without clear goals. That can limit their growth and potential.

Just as I learned to step up, nonprofits must do the same to achieve the impact they want and make the money they deserve. 💰

Research shows that unclear or delayed decisions can reduce your nonprofits’ donor retention; unnecessarily delay your hiring process; and cost you money. Plus, a lack of clarity around goals can lead to marketing efforts that fall flat and waste critical resources.

Creating a high-impact marketing video or social media campaign takes more than good visuals. I understand. It requires clear goals, a targeted approach and the ability to commit to a plan.

Nonprofits will reach out to Team Trust Productions, and say, “We just need a video. There’s no strategy around what that video should do, and that’s a recipe for disaster.

But I promise we want to help. Our clients value our experience as a disability-led company, and appreciate that we go beyond “just making a video.”

We ask tough questions to ensure every piece of content has a clear purpose and a measurable goal.

We’re offering a “Fall Into Savings” special, a rare opportunity to access top-quality video and content creation at a discount, with extra social media content included. 😱

It makes taking the next step easier than ever, allowing you to make a bigger impact without breaking your budget.

This special will NOT be available for much longer. Please take advantage of it, and make your decisions work for you!

Your mommy and daddy will be proud!
