It was 2019.
I remember the exact day and all the details, almost minute by minute.
I was sitting in my apartment, and I lost all trust in my personal assistant. But I I had to keep using his help, or I would be stranded.
Up until a few years ago, I had caretakers or personal assistants help me with my daily routine. I have a disability, and there were a few important tasks I didn’t think I could do on my own.
So I had assistants help, and there were times when I had to comply with their assistance, or my health and safety would be at risk.
There were also times when I had to work with people who I know didn’t like me. I had needs to be met, even in uncomfortable situations.
To some degree, I think everyone likes to be liked. It feels nice to know people think highly of you, and it can feel like the end of the world when we hear people criticize or judge us.
We can often avoid moving forward with certain ambitious projects when we people judge us. I am ambitious in nature and passionate about success, and I, yes, have stopped projects when criticism popped up.
It’s no different for the nonprofits with which we interact. They have great ideas, and they want to make the world a better place.
Yet, they halt projects after receiving bad feedback. They can’t get past the criticism, so they send their promising project down the drain.
It is sad, very sad.
Unfortunately, there are many judgmental people, and they can always find something to judge. When they judge, just know it’s not a reflection of you personally.
Do listen to their feedback, if it’s valid, though don’t let it scare you away from chasing your dreams. People will be skeptical of new or large undertakings … until they work out.
Your plans will never work out if you stop.
If you’d like to feel more comfortable about your success and direction, join my “Ultra Marketing Webinar.” This is the first time we’ve done a webinar, and I am excited.
We’ve consulted with many of the largest nonprofits in the US, and I will be sharing the exact strategies they use to excel.
Plus, you will gain access to tons of marketing and fundraising tricks you can implement right now, and you will join our very supportive community.
The webinar is Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 9 AM MT. We won’t judge you for chasing your dreams, but I might judge you for not attending. 😊
