There’s a lot of stuff online. Tons of people and organizations are promoting their offerings nonstop, and it can be overwhelming to people. 😱
I know I can get annoyed by ads not relevant to me.
There are occasions, though, when I’ll watch a video whether the ultimate offering is of interest or not. That’s because I may just be interested in the story that’s being told. It might resonate with my own life and lived experiences, and I’ll be curious as to how the story pans out for the “main characters.”
This was the case for an Apple commercial a few years ago. They were promoting Apple Watches, and the commercial told the story of how the person used the watch in a car accident.
A person has been pushing me to get an Apple Watch for similar reasons — especially after falling out of my chair three years ago — so the story was most definitely relevant. 😀
But if there’s no story in videos, the videos will be boring and forgotten. People remember stories WAY more than they do facts, numbers and data. 😍
I imagine you remember a movie because of the story it told and the characters, not because of the numbers they briefly flashed on the screen …
The video made you feel something, and, when that happens, the story will stick in our minds and hearts.
