I was on full-blown cram mode.
Instead of cramming for a test, I was cramming for one final review from my Emmy-winning producers with a national network.
The three of them had won more than 20-plus Emmys combined, and their standards were high. I understood, but I couldn’t quite reach them. I had created maybe 10 different versions of the same film for them, yet they didn’t like one. Not ONE! 😱
It was so disappointing. They gave me one last shot under a quick timeline. I shut myself in their editing room, no lights, and I got to work. I looked at several of their great films, and wrote down exactly what made them good. I was looking for answers to …
✏️ How did they edit the videos?
✏️ What were people on camera saying?
✏️ How was the story structured?
And more. I was determined to figure out their magic formula for success. I then took my video and emulated everything my producers did. It took several hours; however, it was worth it. My producers said the video was way better than any other version, and they were ready to share it with the national-network producers.
It was so exciting! I knew my film looked like a very, very nice piece.
Thankfully, I still kept the notes from the time I sat in the editing room and watched every detail of my squad’s films. I continue to follow those notes for Team Trust, and it makes it so much easier to create great videos that are easy to film and easy to edit. Plus, we have an outline to follow for our on-camera interviews. 👍
I want videos to be just as easy for you to create, as well. That’s why I am offering up my film notes in our brand new Video Marketing Giveaway. It covers everything I learned from working with a national network, and more. I talk about how to find people for your videos; what types of questions to ask them on camera; and how to edit it all together.
This is all the guidance I needed.
Once you have these steps down, your videos will be unforgettable.
Just know the Giveaway won’t be available for much longer. In fact, it’s going away quite soon.
